How much will I receive as a tax deduction for my used car?
Your deduction is tied to what the vehicle is worth or what it sells for. The IRS generally lets donors claim one of the following:
- If your car sells for $500 or less: its fair market value, up to a maximum of $500.
- If your car sells for more than $500: the actual amount it sold for.
The tax-deductible receipt we send you will show the correct amount.
Pawsitive Auto is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Please check with your tax advisor or accountant to find out what your benefit would be. A deduction only helps if you itemize your deductions.

Yes, pickup is arranged at no cost to you.
